In the 1960s, social scientists came to believe that different types of situation required different styles of leadership. Of these, Fiedler’s Contingency Model, which is now half a century old, still has enough credibility to appear in contemporary textbooks on leadership, such as the one we are using, which was published in 2015. Carefully study pages 67-73 of the text, in which Fiedler’s theory is presented. On page 71 is a diagram (Figure 3-1, Fiedler’s Contingency Model). It is reproduced below for your convenient reference. Write a paper of 3-5 pages (not including your cover page and reference page) in length in which you explain that diagram. Do you agree or disagree with Fiedler? Justify your position.
